I hope you had a wonderful holiday season! It goes without saying that 2020 was filled with uncertainty and challenges. However I will say I saw people come together more than ever. I’m not talking about the politics of 2020, but the sense of community and looking out for one another. I saw my town of Valparaiso come together to support our local businesses, stand for our teachers who certainly had to take on more work than ever and reach out to our neighbors who work in the healthcare field with gifts and meals. I never thought about grocery store workers and delivery drivers like I have in 2020! How fortunate were we to still be able to go to the store or have groceries brought to us? My hope is that we remember to never take these services and the people behind them for granted.
If you have visited my site, you will have noticed that my candle prices have increased. Over the Fall, the cost of soy wax increased thirty percent. Shipping, shipping materials and even ‘Covid’ fees have been added to some of my supplies (yes, it’s literally called that). My storage (where I hold my wax and jars) costs have increased as well. Knowing my loyal customers plan every holiday season to give my candles as gifts, I did not want to add the burden of higher costs during that time.
I can’t thank you enough for supporting my small business, loving my products and sharing my name with your friends and family. It has meant so much to me!
I hope 2021 brings you comfort, peace, joy, hugs, concerts, ball games, parties and prosperity!
Happy New Year!
Eileen
